7 Big Ten Basketball Players Among Top 10 Male Athletes in NIL Sales For November
Big Ten basketball sells. That's the biggest takeaway from November when it comes to NIL. Seven of the top-selling male athletes for the month play in the conference, with four coming from Purdue.
Per The NIL Store, Purdue had the two highest-selling male athletes for November: Zach Edey (No. 1) and Braden Smith (No. 2). Behind those two was Indiana's Gabe Cupps at No. 3.
The other Boilermakers to crack the top-10 included Myles Colvin (No. 5) and Mason Gillis (No. 8). Purdue accounted for more players than any other school.
Two additional Big Ten names were listed by The NIL Store: Illinois' Terrence Shannon Jr. (No. 6) and Iowa's Brock Harding (No. 9).
The only non-Big Ten names to finish with top-10 sales in November all came from Marquette. Tyler Kolek (No. 4), Kam Jones (No. 7) and Stevie Mitchell (No. 10) all represented the Golden Eagles on the list.
Players from 39 schools are part of The NIL Store Network. It includes brands like Duke, Syracuse, Nebraska, Michigan State, Penn State, Washington, Louisville, Ohio State and several more.
It's not surprising that Edey, the reigning National Player of the Year, sits atop the list. That's likely a trend that will continue throughout the year.
How much will these names change from month to month? It'll be interesting to see if any new players wiggle into the top-10 and what the final numbers look like at the conclusion of the college basketball season.
