2024 Quarterback Timothy Carpenter Commits to Indiana
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana secured its quarterback for the class of 2024 on Sunday when Timothy Carpenter announced his decision.
Carpenter is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback out of Trotwood-Madison High School near Dayton, Ohio. Carpenter is a three-star recruit, ranked No. 668 in the nation and No. 43 among quarterbacks by the 247Sports Composite.
He chose Indiana over offers from Akron, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Kent State, Liberty, Marshall, UMass, Miami (OH), Temple, Toledo, Western Michigan and Yale.
He became Indiana's fourth commitment in the class of 2024, joining tight end Brody Kosin, offensive lineman Mitch Verstegen and athlete Javier Etheridge. Indiana offered Carpenter on May 15, and he's scheduled to take his first visit to Bloomington on June 16-18.
Carpenter competed in the Elite 11 Regional Tour in Massillon, Ohio, where he was one of the top performers, according to 247Sports recruiting analyst Allen Trieu.
"Carpenter is big with a lot of tools," Trieu wrote. "But we also loved his demeanor. There is a calmness and polish to his approach and how he goes about things. When added into his physical upside, it is easy to see why he is sitting on a good handful of offers."
