He's in his seventh year at Indiana State, though they did not play any games in 2020 due to COVID-19. After his playing career at Michigan under coaches Bo Schembechler and Gary Moeller, Mallory began his coaching career at Indiana University, where he was a graduate assistant for his father, Bill Mallory, the all-time winningest coach in Indiana history. Curt later held various defensive position coaching roles at Ball State, Central Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Akron, Michigan and Wyoming before being hired as Indiana State's head coach in January of 2017.
