Opening Line: Purdue Favored Against Indiana in Old Oaken Bucket Game
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 2023 Indiana football season comes to an end on Saturday against Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket rivalry game.
Purdue opened as a 1.5-point favorite, but that number has moved to 3.5 points in favor of the Boilermakers on Wednesday morning. The over/under is set at 51.5 points, according to the SI Sportsbook.
The Hoosiers are 6-5 against the spread this season, though they've only been favored in three games. Here's how Indiana has fared against the spread in 2023.

Indiana played a back-and-forth game against Michigan State last week, but ultimately lost 24-21. Redshirt freshman quarterback Brendan Sorsby led the Hoosiers on a 75-yard touchdown drive to take the lead with 4:07 remaining, but Michigan State answered with a 36-yard touchdown from tight end Maliq Carr.
Indiana had a chance to send the game to overtime, but kicker Chris Freeman missed a 48-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds. With this loss, Indiana became the only Big Ten team with just one conference win this season.
To end the year, the Hoosiers face the only other Big Ten team with just three total wins. Purdue, under first-year coach Ryan Walters, sits at the bottom of the Big Ten West division with a 2-6 conference record following a 23-15 loss at Northwestern. Quarterback Hudson Card did not play last week, but Purdue expects him back against Indiana.
