How to Watch Indiana Softball's Final Regular Season Series Versus Michigan State
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — On Friday, May 5 Indiana softball will compete in its final regular season series versus Michigan State before the Big Ten Tournament on May 10 and hopefully the NCAA Tournament to follow.
The Hoosiers are currently on a six game winning streak and hold a 37-15 overall record with a 15-5 Big Ten record. Indiana made history reaching an 18-game winning streak earlier in the season and at 23 victories finally fell to Minnesota in the second game of the road series.
Indiana is led by freshman infielder's Taryn Kern's .423 batting average in her 52 starts and 130 at-bats. Eight hoosiers including Kern are batting over .300 as the Hoosiers boast the best batting average in the conference at .321.
Michigan State holds a 14-29 overall season record and a 4-16 conference slate. The Spartans saw improvement in their series versus Purdue as they won the first two games before dropping the final one on Saturday.
Senior outfielder Jessica Mabrey leads the Spartans batting .325 in 126 at-bats followed by sophomore catcher Macy Lee's .309 in 94 at-bats.
The Spartans rank last in the Big in both pitching, fielding and batting while Indiana hovers at No. 12 in both pitching and fielding.
