Other high-major programs are seeing what LSU did last October. The Tigers offered Kaidon Rayfield a scholarship before he played a game in his sophomore season.

With his strong performance for Team Griffin this spring following a sensational 10th-grade campaign at Oklahoma City (OK) Putnam City West, Rayfield reportedly collected three offers during the last week. Home-state Oklahoma State kicked it off on June 15. Tulsa jumped in four days later, and Iowa stepped forward on Tuesday.

"I like that they play in a big-time conference (Big Ten). I feel great about them so far because I had a good chat with the coach," Rayfield told HN about the Hawkeyes.

The offer and conversation with Iowa increased Rayfield's curiosity in the school and program.

"I would love to visit their campus to see how they do things. I don't have something planned right now, but I would love to in the future," he said

PrepHoops.com ranks Rayfield (6-8, 190) as the No. 2 player overall in Oklahoma for 2025. Reports indicate increased interest in him this spring comes with more consistency and aggressiveness in his game.

In addition to the programs that have offered him, Rayfield has reportedly heard from LSU, Illinois, SMU, Jacksonville State, Oral Roberts, UNLV, George Mason and Oklahoma recently. That list was expected to grow with a strong performance for Team Griffin during the July evaluation period.

"I just want to keep getting offers and expanding my recruitment," he said.

Academics will play a large role in Rayfield's process of picking a school. He's a member of the National Honor Society and reports a 4.0 GPA

Former NBA player Larry Hughes invited Rayfield to his basketball academy camp Aug. 12-13 in St. Louis. ESPN recently ranked him as the No. 20 power forward nationally in his recruiting cycle.

Web searches don't produce highlight videos of Rayfield, but the below clips show his ability to shoot from deep and attack the rim.
