Parker Jefferson reported receiving an Iowa Basketball scholarship offer last month. The Class of 2025 Waxahachie (TX) High big man welcomed the opportunity.

"I like how they develop big men and use them in their system," Jefferson told HN. "I think the environment is really good, and I like coach (Fran) McCaffery."

Jefferson (6-10, 245) runs with Houston Hoops on the Nike EYBL club circuit. The junior is receiving good feedback for his performance this spring and summer.

Along with the Hawkeyes, Florida, Oklahoma State, LSU, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Central Florida and others have reportedly offered scholarships. Iowa felt like Jefferson fit well in its system.

"They have told me that my versatility and the way I can space the floor and also score with my back to the basket fits in their offense really well. And I fit into their culture," he said.

On Jefferson's junior highlight reel, you see a big man capable of scoring on all three levels. His game is reminiscent of Iowa's all-time leading scorer, Luka Garza.

Jefferson would like to see Iowa's campus, learn more about the community and university, and get a feel for what it's like playing for the Hawkeyes.

"I do plan to visit. I haven’t gotten a date yet, but it will most likely be in the fall," he said.
