One piece of the puzzle remained for Alex Manske to receive an Iowa Football scholarship offer. It came on Thursday night when he performed for the Hawkeye staff at its camp.

"They said they had been following me for a long time and the last step they needed to see was me throwing in person," Manske told HN.

Manske (6-3, 210) added his Iowa offer to the ones he's reported from Pittsburgh, Wisconsin and Nebraska. The Class of 2025 Algona (IA) High standout enjoyed his experience in Iowa City Thursday, a place he's visited multiple times before.

"I thought the camp was run really well. I wasn’t even gassed or anything, so it was good," he said.

Manske is building a bond with the Hawkeye coaches, something that advanced with Thursday's camp and offer.

"I like the coaching staff at Iowa. They all seem really nice. Coach (LeVar) Woods is my area recruiter. He’s always been really nice. I really appreciate that," Manske said.

The IPSWA named Manske to its second-team all-state team for '22, when he worked defenses with his arm and legs. He threw for 1,688 yards and 14 touchdowns, and ran for 407 yards and six scores. He stood out on defense as well, recording 35 solo tackles (3.0 for loss) and two interceptions as a safety.

Algona is in north central Iowa. Its location means it has fans of Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska and Minnesota.

"I actually grew up an Iowa State fan most my life," Manske said.

He visited the Cyclones in the spring and camped with them earlier this month. He's also set up camps at Missouri (June 22), Kansas State (June 25) and Minnesota (June 29).

"I feel good about all the schools that offered. So, I’d say the next step is just seeing what the best fit is for me and continuing to look for that in schools," he said.

Arm strength stands out when watching Manske's sophomore highlights. He feels pressure well in the pocket and does a nice job avoiding it. He shows a nice ability to throw on the move.
