The Detroit Lions picked Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell in the first round of Thursday's NFL Draft. The Cedar Falls (IA) native was the 18th selection overall.

Campbell (6-5, 249) joined Hawkeye defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness in the first round. The Green Bay Packers chose him at No. 13.

Van Ness and Campbell made it six Iowa players drafted in the first round since 2019. They joined tight ends T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant ('19) as Hawkeye teammates taken in the first round.

Campbell was named a consensus all-American in 2022 after racking up 128 tackles. He totaled 271 stops the last two seasons. He won the Butkus Award as the country's top linebacker last Fall.

Chad Greenway was Iowa's last linebacker drafted in first round. The Vikings picked him 17th in '06.

Spotrac projects Campbell's first contract to be worth $14.7M. It comes with a $7.7M signing bonus.
