Rhys Dakin Announces Iowa Commitment

Australian Punter from Same Program as Tory Taylor

Word on the street has been that Iowa Football would be landing another Australian punter in the 2024 recruiting class. We found out who it was on Sunday. 

Melbourne's Rhys Dakin posted on social media that he'd be a Hawkeye. 

Excited to announce my commitment to study and play football on a full scholarship at the university of iowa.

Dakin hails from the same Pro Kick Australian (PKA) program that sent Iowa current punter Tory Taylor, who was named a unanimous consensus All-American this week. Taylor took over the Iowa duties from Michael Sleep-Dalton, also a PKA alumnus. 

On-Line information regarding Dakin is limited. It looks like he competed at a camp in Dallas in early June, standing out as the best punter there.
