Former Texas Guard Arterio Morris Commits to Kansas
Arterio Morris became the second transfer to pick Kansas this offseason when the former five-star recruit and Texas Longhorn committed to the Jayhawks on Friday.
A 6-3, 190-pound guard out of Dallas, Morris averaged 4.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in nearly 12 minutes a game for the Longhorns. But he also comes with baggage. He was charged with Class A misdemeanor domestic violence charge that came from a June 2022 altercation with his then girlfriend.
Morris takes one of KU’s last two available scholarships, with the other reserved for Michigan big Hunter Dickinson if he wants to come to Lawrence. The Jayhawks are also in the running for several other players – including Texas Tech’s Jalen Tyson, Georgetown’s Primo Spears, and former Duke recruit Mackenzie Mgbako – and would need to make room another way if more than one wants to come to Lawrence and Self wants them over incoming freshman Chris Johnson.
