The Kansas Jayhawks have advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after wins over the Texas Southern Tigers and the Creighton Bluejays. Up next is the Providence Friars, out of the Big East Conference.

Kansas entered the NCAA Tournament with a ranking of #3 in both polls and are the 1st seed in the Midwest Region. They are the highest ranked team remaining in the Tournament, after Gonzaga and Arizona were both eliminated in the Sweet 16 last night. Providence is ranked #13 in both polls.

This is the first meeting between these two teams. Kansas is 53-20 against current members of the Big East Conference.
