Game Primer: How To Watch, Things to Know for Kansas at Missouri
The Kansas Jayhawks are back in Columbia for the Border War for the first time in over a decade, and it's against a surprising undefeated team in the Missouri Tigers. Kansas is looking to keep the momentum rolling after blowout victories in two home games after their first loss of the season. But the competition is bound to be pretty fierce as the Jayhawks are traveling to the most hostile environment possible (at least for them).
The Tigers are in their first season under head coach Dennis Gates, and he has completely transformed the roster. That has lead to one of the hottest starts in recent history. However, that success has come against a bunch of teams that the Tigers were expected to beat, as the best opponent they have faced is a 4-4 Wichita State team.
Kansas jumped up to #6 in both polls this week. Missouri is unranked.
Kansas leads the all-time series between these two programs 175-95, including a 67-57 record in Columbia. The last meeting between these two teams was last year's 102-65 victory in Lawrence. Kansas has won 8 of the last 9 in the series, with the only Missouri win being the last time these teams played in Columbia, on February 4, 2012.
