Takeaways

That’s a brutal end to the season for Kansas over its last five games having to play who you could argue will be the other five best teams in the league this year. There’s a couple ways to look at that. One is that you’re facing these teams at the end of the year when you should be at your best and it’s a good setup for postseason play. But it also means KU needs to take care of business early.

Honestly, the schedule for February and March is quite the gauntlet save for a week when the Jayhawks have Texas Tech and Oklahoma back-to-back. Obviously a lot can change once we actually get to February, but this is what you get in the Big 12, even with an expanded 14 teams this year.

The path is there in January for Kansas to get an early lead in the standings and make everyone else chase them the rest of the way.

Women’s Schedule Also Announced

For the Kansas women’s basketball team, the Jayhawks won’t have to wait until 2024 to get started in Big 12 play. KU opens the conference season at home on December 30 against West Virginia before back-to-back road games at Iowa State and Texas Tech.
