On Monday, Kansas Jayhawk sophomore forward KJ Adams was recognized with the Big 12 Player of the Week for two back-to-back high level performances in two close victories for the Jayhawks. It was the third week that a Jayhawk has been honored, with Grady Dick earning Newcomer of the Week on November 21, and Dick and Jalen Wilson sweeping the awards on December 5th.

Adams averaged 18.5 points and 6 rebounds in his two games this week, including a career-high 22 points in the win over the Oklahoma Sooners. He then followed that up with a 15-point performance against Iowa State, including the game-winning shot with just 10 seconds left in the game. He is on an amazing streak of 10 straight games with double-digit scoring.

Joining Adams in being recognized is Texas' Sir'Jabari Rice, who averaged 16.5 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games to earn the Newcomer of the Week. It is the first time a Longhorn has won that award this season, although Marcus Carr has won the Big 12 Player of the Week twice this season.

The Jayhawks are back in action with two additional opportunities for big performances this week, as they travel to Manhattan, KS to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. Then the TCU Horned Frogs come to Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday in the second ranked matchup for the Jayhawks.
