In this story:

From Wikipedia: In American English, the phrase "Bye, Felicia" (actually spelled "Felisha" in the cast listing of the movie Friday) is an informal phrase intended as a dismissive send-off.

Oklahoma hasn’t won a game at Allen Fieldhouse since 1993 (24 losses in a row) and they won’t be getting one any time soon. Bye Felicia.

Oklahoma is in the final throes as a member of the Big XII conference, opting to take their sports to the more lucrative SEC. I’m sure they can be successful there, at least to the point where they can get beaten by a Big XII team in a bowl game (been there, done that very recently) or maybe in the NCAA Tournament (the committee loves matchups so I think it'll happen soon), so, good job, I guess?

So for the other members of the conference, especially those that have been around since the old Big 8 days, I think “Bye, Felicia” is a pretty apt ratings topic. If you don’t know how we rate the performances, read on, but if you do, feel free to use the table of contents.

5 Stars: Out of this world performance. This is a hard to achieve rating and is only reserved for the most impressive or impressionable performances.

4.5 Stars: Very strong performance, packed the stat sheet, provided undeniable intangibles.

4 Stars: A strong performance that falls just short of the standards above.

3.5 Stars: Above average performance, perhaps stands out in one category or one aspect of the game.

3 Stars: Average performance. Also could be a very strong game in one aspect but a very poor game in another such as 15 points but seven turnovers. Could also be that the player played, did their job, but didn't do much spectacularly.

2 Stars: Below average performance, or we simply have higher expectations for the player on this particular night.

1 Star: Rare, but if a player has a stinker in all aspects.

Memorial No Star: Named after former KU walk-on Chris Teahan and is awarded to the player(s) who didn't have enough playing time to contribute or whose performance isn't worthy of a rating for another reason.

5 Stars: October 28, 2023: Kansas 38, Oklahoma 33

The team with infinitely more resources, higher recruits at every position, and a bigger national name lost to Kansas, a team that not many were associating with the sport of football until after that game. Nice work. Have fun in the SEC.

Despite the excellent second half, no one got to five star status for Kansas.

4.5 Stars: Oklahoma’s performance in their bowl game

Oklahoma got outscored by 17 in the final quarter and committed six turnovers. To me, this was a great way for this team to end their time in the Big XII conference and a perfect introduction to Arizona as their replacement.

Twenty four, fourteen, and five. That was Hunter Dickinson’s stat line against the Sooners. There were moments in the second half where the big man was almost unstoppable. He was 0-3 from deep in this one and if he’d made even one, you might be looking at a five star performance.

KJ Adams had a first half to remember, scoring 15 and grabbing eight rebounds. He went on to grab two more boards to secure a double-double. Adams also made all five of his attempts at the charity stripe.

4 Stars: The SNL flight attendant skit

David Spade voice: Buh-bye.

Seven points, eight assists, three steals, and zero turnovers. Dajuan Harris was impressive running things for Kansas. Along with Adams, Harris played every minute of the game.

Kevin McCullar’s aggressiveness probably moves him a half star higher than he deserves. In the second half, McCullar took it to the rim time after time, sparking Kansas to the lead they would never relinquish. He finished 10-12 from the free throw line in this one. He added four rebounds and four assists.Johnny Furphy provided the spark from the get go for KU creating havoc defensively and getting out and running fast breaks. He also canned a three in the second half to finish with seven points, three rebounds, and two steals.

3.5 Stars: Phylicia Rashad

One of the greatest TV moms ever, Claire Huxtable was a tour de force. Too bad her name will always be associated with one of the biggest criminals in the history of American television.

No one fits in this spot.

3 Stars: Goodbye in other languages

Adiós. Arrivederci. Au revoir. Doviđenja. Sayonara. Take your pick. Use any of these to bid Oklahoma adieu.

Elmarko Jackson was stripped of his starting role but seemed to have confidence off the bench. He scored his first basket in three games and also grabbed two rebounds while committing no turnovers.

Not his fault, but Parker Braun is no Hunter Dickinson. He scored two points and grabbed one rebound in seven minutes.

2 Stars: Buying a new car

Ok, so I’m stretching the theme a bit by totally changing the word bye to buy, but any item that immediately depreciates in value the second you sign your name deserves a low star.

No one was a two.

1 Star: Following Texas

Oklahoma couldn’t even become everyone in the conference’s least favorite team because that prize is already patented by the Texas Longhorns.

No one receives one star.

Chris Teahan Memorial No-Star:

Both Nick Timberlake and Jamari McDowell played sparingly in this one.
