Takeaways
The only real changes are ones that I fully expected to see given personnel changes.
- Gavin Potter is no longer with the team, and his backup position is being filled by Rich Miller.
- Daniel Hishaw is out indefinitely with an injury. He has been removed from the depth chart.
It's pretty clear that players are settling into their roles, and the higher performers are earning a bigger share of the playing time. There is the potential concern of depth issues for the Jayhawks at the linebacker position, but they are still very far ahead of where they were all of last year.
As for the running backs, the loss of Daniel Hishaw will be a big one for this team, but Ky Thomas is working his way back to taking snaps again, and Sevion Morrison is another solid option to step in and take some of that workload.
And finally, it appears that the depth chart for the kick and punt returners doesn't really matter much, as it has remained unchanged even though the Jayhawks have mixed and matched returners all season long.
Overall though, there are no surprises in the depth chart for this week.
