The Kansas Jayhawks take the field down in Lubbock tomorrow with bowl eligibility already secured, but that doesn't mean they aren't looking for a win against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The home team will be looking to get back on track after two late collapses and some quarterback uncertainty. Will Kansas be able to avoid a disappointing road showing and improve their position in the bowl pecking order?

Texas Tech is a challenging team to play against and it’s not easy to win going into Lubbock, but I do feel like these are two teams trending in opposite directions. While KU is riding high off win No. 6, Tech has lost 4 of 5 and its already uneasy quarterback situation is in worse flux now due to the Behren Morton injury. I’ll ride the wave of good vibes and side with the Jayhawks, trusting that whichever QB gets the start for Kansas will be able to do enough to carry this program to a remarkable seventh win.

Now that Kansas is bowl eligible, everything is probably gravy. But, I think this team is going to finish strong and not rest on their accomplishments. This starts Saturday at Texas Tech where their only good recent result was a win against West Virginia. I’m taking the confident Jayhawks to win on the road.

The Kansas Jayhawks head to Lubbock, Texas to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. I will continue being an optimist because this Jayhawks football team is building momentum especially after becoming bowl eligible. I look for Jason Bean and the offense to continue playing at a high level. I hope to see the defense tighten down and play a well-rounded game.

This game comes down to one simple thing for me: pressure. The Jayhawks have literally no pressure on them in this game, because while they would like to win them all the rest of the way, they have already qualified for a bowl game, and they would need a decent amount of help to be able to make it to the Big 12 Championship game. Texas Tech is trying to turn a 3-1 start into a bowl berth, and they need 2 wins in the last 3 games to do it.

But more than the pressure on the program is pressure on the field, especially on the quarterback. To put it simply, Texas Tech hasn't handled it well at all this season, with 16 interceptions thrown and 34 sacks allowed this season. On the other end, Kansas has only thrown 4 interceptions and taken 5 sacks. Mark the Jayhawks down for 2 picks and 6 sacks on the night, and Kansas wins this one big.
