In this story:

Kansas is nationally relevant in football again. National media members are talking about the Jayhawks on Twitter, KU was a topic on ESPN's College Gameday, and now Kansas is mentioned in the AP Top 25 Poll.

On the heels of a 48-30 beatdown of Houston and 3-0 start to the season, Kansas earned 23 votes in this week's AP poll. It was not enough to crack the top 25, but it does make the Jayhawks the No. 34 team in the country if you go by AP poll voters. This week, KU received more votes than LSU and Wisconsin, and if I were to have typed that at any other point in the past decade, the only explanation would have been something has gone terribly wrong in Madison and Baton Rouge.

Kansas will look to keep the hot start going at home Saturday against 3-0 Duke, and the early line has the Jayhawks favored by eight. If KU can hold on, the Jayhawks may crack the top 25 for the first time since October of 2009.
