Malachi Curvey Talks Kansas Commitment
The Kansas Jayhawks currently have two commits in their 2025 recruiting class. This is expected to go up over time however as of now it is uncertain who the next commit will be. The two commits they have are huge additions already and they haven’t stepped foot on campus. David McComb and Malachi Curvey are the two commits.
Malachi Curvey is a linebacker and Kansas Jayhawks commit. He is from Waukee, Iowa and plays high school ball at Waukee Senior High School. He measures in at 6-foot-3 195 pounds and is a three-star recruit.
He recently caught up with Blue Wings Rising to detail his commitment.
“Everything from the people, the coaches, their belief in me as an athlete and player, all of it all ties together to why I felt like it was the right choice to commit to the Jayhawks,” Curvey stated to Blue Wings Rising.
As mentioned earlier there are two commits with Curvey being one of them and McComb being the other.
“I talk to David (McComb) from time to time that’s one of the guys! I’m excited to be able to team up with him at some point.”
He specifically stated he has a recruit on his target list that he wants to bring with him to KU and this recruit recently dropped a top schools list that includes Kansas.
“I’ve been pushing hard talking to Dawson Merritt.”
Below is Merritt’s top schools.

He also had a statement for any recruit considering the Jayhawks.
“Most is needless to say, you can’t find anything bad about Kansas!”
“I’ve connected mostly with Leipold and coach Simpson and the reasoning is they showed they cared about not only me but my family aswell and showed me I was a priority.”
It isn’t uncommon for a verbal commit to keep their recruitment open and communicate with other schools. This often leads to decommitments. Curvey had a reassuring statement on that.
“I would say my recruitment is mostly closed the only reason I would say not completely is because at this day and age you don’t know what changes can happen and you don’t know at what time. But mostly yes it is.”
