Former Kentucky OL David Wohlabaugh Jr Transferring to Syracuse
One of Kentucky football's April transfer portal entrants has found a new home.
On Monday afternoon, former Wildcat offensive lineman David Wohlabaugh Jr announced that he is transferring to play for Syracuse:
The move has some family ties for the Stow, Ohio native, as his father, Dave Wohlabaugh, is a Syracuse alum who played center for the Orange during the 1990s.
Wohlabaugh Jr announced his entry into the portal on April 30, the final day to enter during the 15-day window. His decision came following Kentucky's portal addition of USC offensive tackle Courtland Ford. He played two seasons in Lexington and appeared in 10 games.
“I want to thank the coaches and my teammates at the University of Kentucky for the past two years, I value the friendships and relationships I have developed,” he wrote. “I’m entering the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining and looking forward to the next chapter in my life."
He started the 2022 season-opener against Miami Ohio, but playing time quickly dwindled from there. He was a 3-star recruit coming out of Walsh Jesuit High School and chose the Cats over Arizona State, Penn State and West Virginia.
Now, he'll follow in his father's footsteps.
