On April 26, defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye entered the transfer portal as a redshirt freshman following one season at Kentucky.

The Middletown, Del. native was an early enrollee in January of 2022 and played in three games as a true freshman — vs. Miami Ohio, Youngstown State and in the Music City Bowl against Iowa.

The 6-foot-4, 278-pounder was ranked as the No. 42 strongside defensive end in the nation and top player in the state of Delaware by Rivals and was First-Team All-State selection as both a junior and senior at Middletown High School.

Before committing to UK, Durojaiye also took visits to West Virginia, Arkansas Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Northwestern and South Carolina. Upon entering the portal, he took visits to WVU and Colorado. Eventually, the DL decided it was time to head to Morgantown, as he announced his decision to transfer to the Mountaineers on Thursday:

Playing time appeared to be in the cards for the DL in 2023, as defensive coordinator Brad White had previously complemented his twitch and weight gain as two positives for depth in the trenches. Instead, he'll join head coach Neal Brown in the Big 12.

Five Wildcats have entered the portal since the April window opened, Durojaiye is the second to find a new home, joining defensive back Vito Tisdale, who joined coach Deion Sanders at Colorado.
