Kentucky could have two former players win a Super Bowl ring
Super Bowl 58 is just one day away, and it is set up to be an exciting one.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs have taken the villain role in these playoffs as they just keep winning, and NFL fans want to see a new team win. Brock Purdy, better known as "Mr. Irrelevant," has become very relevant as he has taken the San Fransisco 49ers all the way to the Super Bowl.
Two former Wildcats will look for a Super Bowl as safety Mike Edwards and offensive lineman Darian Kinnard are both a part of the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Edwards starts at safety for the Chiefs, and Kinnard is on the team's practice squad. Edwards won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few short years ago, and Kinnard won one last year with the Chiefs.
Safid Deen of USA Today had this to say about the upcoming Super Bowl, "Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the Chiefs entered the postseason with the worst offense they’ve had during their time together in Kansas City. Yet, here they are, in the Super Bowl once again. Sure, Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy make the 49ers much more formidable than their last Super Bowl matchup in Miami, but the Chiefs will have enough offense, while Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will have his fingerprints all over this one. Mahomes wins his third ring and takes another step in his chase of Tom Brady’s seven Super Bowls."
Edwards will be a big part of this game as Purdy looks to get the football to his elite receivers, Deebo Samuel (former South Carolina Gamecock) and Brandon Aiyuk.
