Kentucky's chances of adding a nice piece to the secondary in 2023 diminished drastically on Tuesday.

Rhode Island transfer defensive back Antonio Carter entered the portal back in the beginning of the April window, which ran from April 15-30. He then picked up an offer from Kentucky, as well as a host of other schools. After the Cats offered on April 18, it was then reported by Kentucky Sports Radio's Zack Geoghegan on May 1 that Carter would be taking a visit to Lexington.

That visit now isn't happening, per On3's Matt Zenitz. Carter told Zenitz that will now be visiting both Florida and LSU, along with Notre Dame, and now won't be taking scheduled trips to UK, Texas A&M and Iowa.

“Florida’s been my dream school growing up," Carter said.

Coming out of Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Fla., Carter started all 11 games for the Rams as a redshirt sophomore in the 2022 season. He finished fourth on the team with 60 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 11 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and recoveries, an interception and a sack. In 21 career games, Carter has 105 tackles and 17 pass deflections.

He has already taken visits to Wisconsin and Ole Miss, but Kentucky won't be added to that list.
