UK Freshman Tight End Jakob Dixon No Longer With Team
Kentucky gained the commitment of a 3-star offensive lineman in the 2024 class on Monday, but it also lost an incoming freshman tight end due to unknown reasons.
Justin Rowland of Cats Illustrated reported that Louisville native Jakob Dixon is no longer with the Wildcats, just a couple of weeks after the class moved into dorms on campus.
Dixon, a Pleasure Ridge Park High School product, was a consensus 3-star prospect and was rated as the No. 6 receiver in the state via Rivals. He caught 64 passes for 1,089 receiving yards as a senior at PRP, collecting 15 touchdowns along the way.
He impressed Kentucky with his athleticism and WR/TE in-between 6-foot-5, 210-pound frame, but won't be on the sidelines come the 2023 season.
The Cats still maintain a deep TE room, which includes fifth-year Brenden Bates, Izayah Cummings and sophomore standouts Josh Kattus and Jordan Dingle.
