Utah OL Transfer With Kentucky Offer Commits to Nebraska
Kentucky football has found plenty of success adding offensive lineman via the transfer portal since the end of the 2022 season.
Marques Cox (Northern Illinois) is expected to start at left tackle for the Wildcats. Courtland Ford (USC) is the likely frontrunner to man the right tackle position. Tanner Bowles (Alabama) and Ben Christman (Ohio State) are set to add backup depth, trying to improve the Big Blue Wall for the upcoming 2023 campaign.
On Tuesday, another lineman with a Kentucky offer announced his transfer destination, opting to move to the Big 12 instead of the SEC.
Tyler Knaak picked up a UK offer in early May after entering the portal following one season at Utah, where he didn't see the field. The Wildcats were the first Power 5 program that the 6-foot-7, 305-pounder reported interest from.
Eventually, Nebraska got involved and became the only school to receive a visit from Cottonwood Heights, Utah native. He eventually made his way to Lincoln, finishing things off with a commitment:
Knaak was a 3-star recruit coming out of Brighton High School, where he was a first-team all-region selection. He began his high school career on the defensive line and was also a heavyweight wrestler.
Kentucky officially announced its seven transfer portal additions in the April window on Monday. All seven will join the team later this month and participate in summer workouts. With the addition of seven transfers in January, UK now has 14 newcomers from the transfer portal on its roster.
