3 things to know about the LSU Tigers
The No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats take on the LSU Tigers on the road inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center tomorrow.
Kentucky will be looking to build on a huge road win over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. LSU picked up a 64-63 road win over the No. 11 South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday and will be looking to knock off its second straight ranked opponent.
What are three things to know about the LSU Tigers?
LSU has a dynamic guard duo
The Tigers have a pair of skilled guards in Jalen Cook and Jordan Wright.
Cook, a 6-foot junior from Walker, Louisiana, leads the team in scoring with 15.6 points per game. He also averages 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game and shoots 41.3% from the field.
Wright, a 6-foot-6 senior from Waggaman, Louisiana, is LSU's second-highest scorer with 15 points per game. Additionally, Wright averages 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game and shoots 38.8% from the field.
Kentucky's defense was able to shut down Auburn's guards and it will need to do the same thing in this game.
The Tigers can shoot the ball
Despite not having a great record, LSU knows how to score. The Tigers average 77.3 points per game, placing them at No. 3 in the SEC.
As a team, LSU shoots 46% from the field, 35.8% from beyond the arc and 72% from the free-throw line.
Forwards Will Baker and Jalen Reed are two of the team's highest-percentage shooters, shooting 52.9% and 52.6% from the field respectively.
Kentucky will need to hit shots or it could fall behind, particularly playing this game on the road.
LSU can force turnovers
The Tigers average 8.4 steals per game as a team.
Kentucky will need to take care of the ball and avoid unforced turnovers because LSU will generate plenty.
The team that takes better care of the ball will be in a better position to win the game.
Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT and the broadcast can be found on ESPN.
