3 things to know about the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers

Kentucky will look to bounce back tomorrow by picking up a statement win against one of the best teams in the country. What are the most important things to know about Tennessee?

The No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats will be looking to get back on track tomorrow against the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers.

Both teams picked up a loss in their last time out. Kentucky fell 94-91 at home to the Florida Gators in overtime. Tennessee fell 63-59 to the South Carolina Gamecocks at home.

What are three things to know about Tennessee?

Dalton Knecht can put this team on his back

Tennessee has one of the best players in the country in the 6-foot-6 senior from Thornton, Colorado.

Knecht transferred from Northern Colorado to Tennessee this offseason and has taken college basketball by storm since arriving in Knoxville.

Knecht leads Tennessee in scoring with 20.1 points per game. He also averages 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game and shoots 48.8% from the field.

Even if no other Volunteer is on, Knecht is capable of taking over a game. Containing him needs to be a priority for Kentucky.

Tennessee can shoot the lights out

The Volunteers are currently shooting 44.6% from the field, 33.7% from 3-point range and 75.1% from the free-throw line.

There is not an area that Tennessee struggles to score from which means Kentucky will need to have a good game offensively.

Rebounding will be the difference-maker

Tennessee has a narrow edge over Kentucky in rebounding, averaging 39.5 per game to Kentucky's 38.6.

Kentucky's leading rebounder is Tre Mitchell who averages 7.8 per game. Tennessee is led in that category by Jonas Aidoo who averages 7.4 per game.

This will not be the first time that Kentucky has a game that will be impacted by its rebounding performance and it likely will not be the last.

Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on ESPN.
