Best case scenario matchups for Kentucky to win an SEC Championship

Kentucky wants to face these teams in the SEC Tournament.
In this story:

The SEC Tournament kicks off this evening as Vanderbilt takes on Arkansas and Missouri takes on Georgia.

The game that will affect the Wildcats is when Texas A&M takes on Ole Miss. Kentucky will play the winner of this game on Friday.

I previously wrote about Kentucky's path to the SEC Championship based on how things will likely go, but now we will look at the best-case scenario matchup for the Wildcats in each round.

The best-case scenario for the Wildcats in this game will be playing the Ole Miss Rebels. Texas A&M is playing excellent basketball right now, and you would love to see them stumble against Ole Miss. The Aggies beat this Ole Miss team on Saturday in Oxford by 26 points, so you have to figure A&M will get the win, but it would be great for Kentucky if they didn't.

Assuming the Wildcats win their first-round matchup, they will likely play the winner between Alabama and Florida. This is the most challenging game to decide which matchup would be the best for Kentucky. I lean toward Florida being the better matchup, but they play better defense than Alabama and can get hot from deep, just like the Crimson Tide.

The Wildcats have beaten both of these teams, the Florida Gators just lost to Vanderbilt, and the Crimson Tide have been struggling lately.

It really feels like this is a toss-up and could go either way, but if I had to pick, I would rather play Florida.

Then, in the championship game, the best-case scenario is Auburn. The Wildcats have proven they can beat the Tigers, and you would much rather play Auburn than Tennessee.

Auburn is a better matchup for the Wildcats than Tennessee as the Volunteers defense and Dalton Knecht can give John Calipari's teams fits.

While some matchups are better than others it's safe to say there is no team in college basketball this Kentucky team is afraid of right now.
