Former Kentucky Wildcats forward Daimion Collins is set to return to the court for the LSU Tigers on Friday evening in a home matchup against Northwestern State, according to a report from On3's Joe Tipton.

Collins was a consensus top 20 ranked prospect in the class of 2021 when he came to Lexington from Texas, but he was unable to find his way into coach John Calipari's rotation on a consistent basis.

Across two seasons with the Wildcats, Collins appeared in 52 games, making two starts and averaging 7.7 minutes, 2.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks while shooting 54.7% on twos and 73.1% from the free throw line.

He was one of four Kentucky players to hit the transfer portal this offseason, alongside Sahvir Wheeler (Washington) CJ Fredrick (Cincinnati) and Lance Ware (Villanova), choosing to stay in the SEC with LSU.

Collins got off to a promising start with the Tigers, dropping 11 points against Mississippi Valley State in the season opener on a perfect 2-2 from the field, 1-1 from three, and 4-4 from the line.

He only saw three combined minutes of action against Dayton and Wake Forest however, and after posting nine points and four rebounds against North Florida he missed the team's next six games with a shoulder injury.

Now he's set to return and while he remains behind Will Baker, Jalen Reed, and Derek Fountain on LSU's depth chart, his athletic upside remains intriguing if coach Matt McMahon can find a way to unlock him in conference play.
