BREAKING: DJ Wagner was ruled out with a lower extremity injury against Miami

DJ Wagner will not return against the Miami Hurricanes.
In this story:

In the middle of the first half, Kentucky guard DJ Wagner went down with a lower-body injury and quickly went to the locker room.

He returned from the locker room and clearly wanted to give it a go as he got on an exercise bike.

He even told an assistant coach that he would be good to go, but the team later ruled him out.

My initial thought here is that it's nothing long-term, as Wagner tried to give it a go, but the Cats need their talented guard back on the floor soon.

Hopefully, he is able to rest up over the next few days and be ready to go when the Cats take the court on Saturday or when they make the trip to play Penn.

We will keep you updated on Wagner when we hear something from Coach Calipari post-game.

Wagner was off to a hot start in this ball game, with five points in ten minutes before going down with an injury.

Reed Sheppard has done a terrific job filling in for Wagner with 19 points in this ball game. Sheppard is 5-6 from deep, adding to his terrific three-point percentage.
