ESPN's metrics predict the winner between Kentucky and Auburn
Kentucky has its biggest game of the season coming up as they will head to Auburn to take on the Tigers.
Auburn is coming off a game where they blew the doors off South Carolina, winning 101-61, which has Big Blue Nation concerned. Auburn's home court has become a really good advantage for Bruce Pearl and his team, making it hard to win there. If the Wildcats can win this game in a hostile environment, it will go down as the signature win of the season for Kentucky.
ESPN's matchup predictor believes Auburn will win this game, only giving Kentucky a 14.9% chance to win this one on the road. Nobody will give Kentucky a chance to win this game, so this gives the Wildcats an opportunity to get a huge win, likely boosting John Calipari's team a seed line when no one expects them to. If Kentucky wins this game, this young team will have all of the confidence it needs to make a run in March.
Coach Calipari had this to say about what he liked defensively from Kentucky against Ole Miss, "Pressure. Pressure. We weren't backing up. It's something that I just said look, the start of games are bad for us because we are back. We can't be that way. My whole career, the first five minutes, four minutes we pressed. Even if it was an ugly press. Not to press them to get my team playing with a motor. I told them prior to the game. They are not getting an offensive rebound in the first five minutes of this game. Do you hear me? They are not. Do you know how many games they get three, four, five offensive rebounds in the first three minutes of the game. Antonio rebounded. You know, he went in and mixed it up. Justin's got to do more rebounding the ball."
Watch out for Kentucky in this game, as the defense is slowly getting better, and they are one of the best offenses in all of college basketball.
