Former Kentucky Wildcat dunks on former teammate
One problem with Kentucky putting a ton of talent in the NBA and G-League is that we often see some Kentucky-on-Kentucky crime when it comes to making great plays.
This occurred in the G-League recently as former Kentucky center Oscar Tshiebwe dunked on former Wildcat forward Jacob Toppin. Now, to be fair, Toppin made a business decision not to jump with Tshiebwe, which was likely smart. But all Kentucky fans know that Toppin can jump out of the gym, so perhaps if he had jumped, the outcome could have been different.
Both of these former Wildcats played well as their two G-League teams met on the hardwood. Tshiebwe is with the Indiana Mad Ants, who are the affiliate of the Pacers, and he had an 11-point 11 rebound double-double as his team won 116-110. Toppin lit up the stat sheet for the Westchester Knicks as he scored 36 points on 12-17 from the field and 4-8 from three. He also had a double-double, bringing in 12 rebounds to go with his 36 points.
While Tshiebwe had the poster dunk, Toppin had the much better overall performance, although both of these former Wildcats played well in this basketball game.
It was really cool to see these former teammates share the floor together, and it must have been enjoyable for them to compete against one another. It would not come as a surprise to see these two get a long-term shot in the NBA at some point.
Let's take a look at this dunk from Tshiebwe over Toppin.
