Is Reed Sheppard going too low in this NBA Mock Draft?

Where should Reed Sheppard go in the 2024 NBA Draft?

One of the freshmen on Kentucky's roster who is picking up steam when it comes to NBA Scouts and NBA Mock Drafts is Reed Sheppard.

Looking at his numbers on the season, it makes sense why the NBA is incredibly interested in Sheppard. Heading into the year, we were wondering what Sheppard's role on this team would be, and now the conversation is about what his suit will look like at the NBA Draft when he is getting ready to get drafted on draft night.

USA Today just put out an NBA Mock Draft for the upcoming NBA Draft, and they have Sheppard going eighth overall to the Houston Rockets. After his performance against Mississippi State, we have seen Sheppard going higher than this, but eighth seems to be a pretty good place to put the freshmen superstar. If Sheppard keeps these numbers up over the rest of the season, he could go top five.

Bryan Kalbrosky of USA Today had this to say about Sheppard, "Reed Sheppard recently exploded for 32 points and hit a game-winning shot on Feb. 27 and it was just another chapter in a remarkable campaign. Still shooting better than 50.0 percent on 3-pointers, he is statistically enjoying one of the best freshman seasons since 2008.While he is a complicated evaluation because he is a bit undersized listed at 6-foot-3, Sheppard clearly contributes to winning. Kentucky’s net rating is a whopping 32.6 points per 100 possessions higher with the freshman on the court relative to when he is off, per CBB Analytics, which ranks in the 99th percentile."

On the season, Sheppard is averaging 12.5 points per game, 4.4 rebounds, 4,3 assists, and 2.7 steals. The soon to be top ten pick is shooting a whopping 51.7% from three and 83.1% from the charity stripe.
