John Calipari talks about the atmosphere at Rupp Arena during the losing streak

The atmosphere has been elite in Rupp Arena this season.
In this story:

Kentucky has lost three games in a row in Rupp Arena for the first time in its history.

These losses came against Florida, Tennessee, and Gonzaga. The Wildcats were in the games against Florida and Gonzaga, but the matchup with rival Tennessee really never felt close. Kentucky will host a pretty good Ole Miss team on Tuesday, looking to snap the home losing streak.

What has been frustrating about these losses is how good the crowds have been in Rupp Arena. When the Wildcats make a shot, you can barely hear yourself think, yet somehow Kentucky can't pull out the win.

Despite losing three in a row in Rupp Arena the atmospheres at these three games were elite. This is what Coach John Calipari had to say about the atmospheres at these games after the loss to Gonzaga, "I want to tell our fans how much I appreciate what they are doing for this team or what they are trying to do. They are here. They are loud. When we needed them, they stood up. This team needs it and I would just say stick with them. I appreciate the fans and, you know, you walk into this building, and it's packed like it has been for three games. We just normally come out like on fire, and we just haven't. But again, nothing has changed in my mind with this team. We have the ability to do what we want. We are just going to have to do it together."

Kentucky's matchup with Ole Miss is a nine p.m. tip, which means Rupp Arena will need to be energized to help this team win. If Rupp Arena isn't loud, Ole Miss could come to Lexington and win this game.
