Kentucky basketball needs to pursue this talented 6'7 guard in the transfer portal

John Calipari needs to take a look at this talented guard in the portal.
In this story:

The 2023-24 Kentucky basketball team is getting ready to make a run in the postseason, but the coaching staff has to start thinking about roster management for the 2024-25 season.

The Wildcats currently have six players committed in the 2024 recruiting class, and you can expect a ton of the players on the current team to head to the NBA Draft and perhaps a player or two to enter the transfer portal.

This means Kentucky will need at least a player or two in the transfer portal. While Coach Calipari is focusing on getting his team ready to have a special month of March he is also starting to look at some players he might want to reach out to in the transfer portal.

One of those players is former Pepperdine Wave Michael Ajayi, who averaged 17.2 points per game this season and 9.9 rebounds. The 6'7 guard shot 47% from three this season on 83 attempts from deep, which is pretty impressive for a guard of his size.

You also have to love the fact that Ajayi is a capable rebounder, only 0.1 rebounds shy of averaging a double-double.

Kentucky will likely lose every single guard on the roster, so bringing in a veteran like Ajayi could be a good move for the Wildcats, who will be looking for some veteran leadership on a young, talented team.

Coach Calipari may never even speak to Ajayi, but he is a talented player who would be an excellent addition to Kentucky's 2024-25 roster.
