Kentucky basketball moved up the NET rankings after beating Illinois State

The Cats continue to move up the NET Rankings as SEC play is finally here.

SEC play is officially here, as Kentucky has finished non-conference play aside from the Gonzaga game.

The Cats are 10-2 heading into SEC play, and their first game in conference play will be a difficult one on the road against the Florida Gators.

After the win over Illinois State, the Cats moved up one spot in the NET Rankings from 23 to 22.

Let's look at Kentucky's record broken up by Quads, as we are now 12 games into the 2023-24 season.

Quad 1: 1-1

Quad 2: 2-0

Quad 3: 1-1

Quad: 6-0

As all Kentucky fans know, the UNC Wilmington loss has hurt this team, but the good news is the Cats will have a ton of opportunities to pick up some Quad 1 wins, including in their first game of SEC play against the Gators.

With the SEC being as good as it is this season, it will help Kentucky pick up a ton of Quad 1 and 2 wins that will help this team get a high seed in March.

If Kentucky starts SEC play with a win over Florida, they will jump up the NET Rankings next week.
