Kentucky basketball starts SEC play with a tough stretch

The Cats have a rough stretch to start SEC play.

The Kentucky Wildcats only have one more game before SEC play begins as they host the Illinois State Redbirds on December 29th.

Then, when the calendrer turns to 2024, conference play will begin, and the Cats have a difficult start to SEC play.

The Cats start SEC play with a trip to Gainsville to take on the Florida Gators, then host the Missouri Tigers in Rupp Arena, and finish the tough stretch by making the trip to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Gators have some tough losses on the season and some impressive wins, making them a sneaky team in the SEC that I would not want to play on the road, but Coach Cal's team will have to make that trip.

Missouri isn't a great team, but on any given day, they can have an offensive explosion and beat you.

Texas A&M is a good basketball team that has played a tough 2023-24 nonconference schedule so far and dealt with a few different key injuries.

If the Cats can go 3-0 in this stretch with two big road wins, it will set them up for success for the rest of SEC play. This is a stretch Big Blue Nation needs to be ready for, as there are a few games that could sneak up on Kentucky.
