Kentucky's shot selection down the stretch was questionable against Kansas

The only real complaint about Kentucky's performance vs. Kansas was the late shot selection.

It's hard to have any complaints about Kentucky's showing against the #1 Kansas Jayhawks in Chicago, but if there was one, it would be the shot selection late.

When you have a late lead in a basketball game, it becomes a possession-by-possession game.

The goal is to get the best shot possible on each trip down the floor, and the Cats did not do this late.

This led to run-out layups for the Jayhawks, and that is why they were able to leave the Windy City with the victory.

Even the shot taken late by Reed Sheppard to tie the game wasn't what Coach Cal would have wanted.

Sheppard played a terrific basketball game, but this shot late was not what Kentucky needed, with plenty of time left on the clock.

Kentucky will be in a lot of close games in the non-conference slate, SEC play, and in March, so they need to close basketball games better.

This will be something that Coach Calipari discusses with his team this week and cleans up.

If the Cats took better shots in the last four minutes of this game, they leave Chicago with the win.

It's hard to nitpick in a game where the Cats were so shorthanded and played a really good game. Shot selection late is the only thing I was upset about in this game.

This Kentucky basketball is scary good and will get better when they get all of the big guys back on the floor.
