Kentucky basketball has done an incredible job of not turning the basketball over

This young Kentucky team has done an excellent job of not turning the basketball over.

For the first time in a few seasons, John Calipari has a very young basketball team.

In the new world of college basketball, Coach Calipari had been bringing in veteran players from the portal and moving away from his one-and-done philosophy.

It wasn't working, so Coach Cal went back to his old ways, bringing in a ton of talented freshmen.

Part of the issues with bringing in all of the five-star freshman players is it takes them a little while to adjust to the speed of the college game.

This adjusting time generally leads to turnovers and many other mistakes, but this Kentucky team hasn't done it early.

Five games into the season, Kentucky is fifth in all of college hoops when it comes to turning over the basketball.

They are only turning over the basketball eight times a game.

You would expect this young team, with your main ball handlers being freshmen, would lead to some turnover, but Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner, and Reed Sheppard have taken care of the basketball early.

Having reliable guards who don't turn over the rock is a big help in March, and it seems the Cats have that with their guards.

It's truly incredible how well this team has taken care of the basketball so far this season.
