Kentucky Briefing: The loss to Kansas should hurt and excite Kentucky basketball fans at the same time
Without a doubt, Kentucky fans are waking up sick this morning after the close loss to the Kansas Jayhawks, but what we saw on that court should bring excitement.
Many in the national college basketball media world are arguing that we might have seen the best teams in college basketball duke it out.
Now, of course, the Cats were without all of their height in the frontcourt, which is why Tre Mitchell had to play 39 minutes in this ball game.
Players like Adou Thiero, Reed Sheppard, and Rob Dillingham proved the moment wasn't too big for them, which will be a good thing in March.
The guys we expected to play well if the Cats were in this game really did not, and that would be DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, and Antonio Reeves.
These three weren't efficient from the field, but I am not concerned about this yet. These are Kentucky's three best players, and they will figure it out.
This Kentucky basketball team will make a deep run in March once all of the big guys are back in the lineup.
Big Blue Nation should be very excited about the 2023-24 Kentucky basketball team.
