Kentucky falls but is still ranked in the AP Poll after losing to Gonzaga

Kentucky is still ranked in the AP Poll.
In this story:

Kentucky went 1-1 on the week last week blowing out the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville and losing to Gonzaga in Rupp Arena.

The loss to Gonzaga in Rupp Arena was the third home loss in a row for the Wildcats which is the first time this has happened. Now Kentucky will have to rebound with a tough week, hosting Ole Miss on Tuesday and heading to Auburn on Saturday. Kentucky is in a dangerous spot right now and needs to find a way to at least win one of these games, or bubble discussions could start to come up.

The AP Poll just came out, and the Wildcats dropped from the 17th spot all the way down to 22nd. Some were a bit shocked the Wildcats were ranked at all. The metrics believe in Kentucky, which must be the reason they are still ranked.

Coach Calipari had this to say to the fans after losing in Rupp Arena three times in a row with fantastic crowds, "I want to tell our fans how much I appreciate what they are doing for this team or what they are trying to do. They are here. They are loud. When we needed them, they stood up. This team needs it, and I would just say stick with them. I appreciate the fans, and, you know, you walk into this building, and it's packed like it has been for three games. We just normally come out like on fire and we just haven't. But again, nothing has changed in my mind with this team. We have the ability to do what we want. We are just going to have to do it together."

If Kentucky can find a way to go 2-0 this week, it would be a giant confidence boost for a team that badly needs one.
