Kentucky has a tough matchup coming up to open the SEC Tournament

Kentucky has a challenging game coming up in Nashville.

Kentucky was still waiting to find out who they will be playing in the first round of the SEC Tournament and the Wildcats will take on Texas A&M since the Aggies beat Ole Miss on Thursday evening.

We expected the Wildcats to take on the Aggies in the first round, but this will not be an easy game for John Calipari's team. These are two basketball teams who are playing their best basketball of the season, and Texas A&M has a lot more to play for than Kentucky does.

Texas A&M's best player, Wade Taylor IV, led the Aggies in scoring in the win over Ole Miss with 20 points, but he was inefficient, only going 5-15 from the floor. Texas A&M's other veteran guard, Tyrece Radford, had 18 points in the win but was also inefficient, going 4-16 from the field.

The star of the game for Texas A&M was Andersson Garcia and stopping him will be the key to victory for Kentucky. Garcia comes off the bench for the Aggies and is averaging 9.4 rebounds on the season, and he grabs a ton of offensive boards. He is right behind Zach Edey of Purdue averaging 4.42 offensive rebounds per game. He loves to crash the glass on offense, and this gives the Aggies extra possessions.

In the win over Ole Miss in Nashville, Garcia had 14 rebounds, and eight of them were offensive. The Wildcats need to keep them off the glass and secure defensive rebounds. He also had 11 points on 4-5 shooting in the win over Ole Miss.

If Kentucky can play defense, keep the Aggies off the glass, and keep scoring like we know they can, the Wildcats will take down the Aggies and move on to the semifinals.
