Kentucky needs a veteran to play well in the NCAA Tournament

This Kentucky Wildcat needs to play well in the NCAA Tournament.

In the NCAA Tournament, you need your best players to step up and play good basketball.

This means Antonio Reeves needs to play well for Kentucky to make a deep run in this year's tournament. In the SEC Tournament, Antonio Reeves was in foul trouble and didn't ever really get into a rhythm, which threw off John Calipari's rotations. Reeves was 4-7 in this game for 13 points, but he only played 18 minutes. On the season, Reeves is playing 31.4 minutes a game, so not having your best player on the floor hurts.

In the Big Dance, Reeves needs to make sure he isn't picking up any silly fouls like he did in the SEC Tournament because the recipe for beating Kentucky is getting him in foul trouble and keeping him off the floor.

You have to think Oakland Head Basketball Coach Greg Kampe watched the tape on this game and will try to get Reeves in foul trouble.

However, foul trouble and the SEC Tournament game aside, Reeves needs to play well in the NCAA Tournament. He has played in the NCAA Tournament before, so Reeves needs to have some big games for this team to make a run. The season Reeves has had is incredible, but if he could average 20+ points in the NCAA Tournament and lead this team to a Final Four, he would cement his name as a Kentucky basketball legend.

Reeves has shot the ball well from deep all season, but if he could get red hot, it would be huge for John Calipari's squad.
