Kentucky Briefing: Looking at these stats should give Kentucky fans some confidence heading into the matchup with North Carolina

Kentucky is better than North Carolina in nearly every big stat category.

Two Blue Blood college basketball programs are set to face off in Atlanta, Georgia, as the #14 Kentucky Wildcats will play the #9 North Carolina Tar Heels. 

Many in Vegas and in college basketball think the Tar Heels will win this basketball game, but when you look at the basic stats, Kentucky has better numbers. 

Let's take a look at some of these stats. 

Points Per Game: Kentucky 90.6/UNC 85.1

Points Against: Kentucky 72.4/UNC 73.7

Field Goal %: Kentucky 50.4/ UNC 45.8

Rebounds Per Game: UNC 38.9/ Kentucky 37.8

Assists Per Game: Kentucky 19.6/ UNC 14.6

Blocks Per Game: Kentucky 4.8/ UNC 4.3

Steals Per Game: Kentucky 9.4/ UNC 5.3

Now, people need to understand that strength of schedule is different, and stats aren't everything, but the people talking as if the Cats will get blown off the court need to look at these numbers. 

I believe that if Kentucky comes out and shoots the basketball well, they will take down the #9 Tar Heels, collecting their second signature win of the season.
