Kentucky Briefing: The North Carolina Tar Heels live at the charity stripe

North Carolina will try to get to the free throw line against Kentucky.

The Kentucky Wildcats are getting ready to face Blue Blood rival North Carolina in Atlanta, Georgia.

I have been scouting this game for weeks now, and one thing that will be important in this game is the charity stripe.

North Carolina attempts the sixth most free throws per game in all of college basketball shooting 28 a game.

What's so interesting about this is how it's not just one guy getting to the line. Every player that gets minutes for the Tar Heels can get to the line.

North Carolina is shooting 75.8% from the free throw line, which is the 44th-best percentage in college basketball.

A key in this game for the Cats will be to not foul, or the Tar Heels will get to the line and make their free throws.

If Kentucky can play smart team defense and defend without fouling, it will force the Tar Heels to score a lot more baskets rather than free throws, which will increase Kentucky's chances of getting the big win.

We wrote it

Andy Patton wrote about three recruits in the 2025 recruiting class to whom Kentucky fans need to pay attention.

"Things have not been perfect for the Kentucky Wildcats in the John Calipari era, especially lately, but it is hard to deny the success he has had on the recruiting trail since taking over the program in 2009."

"Coach Cal's ability to put high-level recruits into the NBA is unmatched, and it has continued to result in the best high school stars wanting to come to Lexington to play at Rupp Arena in the blue and white."
