The Kentucky Wildcats made a big statement on Tuesday evening in a 95-73 win over the Miami Hurricanes in the inaugural ACC/SEC challenge. Kentucky and Miami were close in the first half, but the Wildcats pulled away by dropping 57 points in the second half despite starting point guard DJ Wagner going down with an ankle injury.

Reed Sheppard (21 points) and Rob Dillingham (12 points, nine assists) shouldered the load in the backcourt for the 'Cats, who are now 6-1 on the year and No. 13 in the country at KenPom.

Locked on College Basketball host, Andy Patton was joined by Leif Thulin of the Locked on NBA Big Board to discuss Kentucky's big win and the performances of the team's freshmen guards, and both are all-in on the Wildcats as a contender this season.

"I think they should be an Elite 8 or Final 4 team," Thulin said. "They move the ball, they have multiple ball-handlers, they shoot good shots, and they run. They play to what their personnel is good at; they've adapted...I'm in on Kentucky."

The duo did discuss what might happen when this team gets Aaron Bradshaw and Ugonna Onyenso back from injuries, and potentially Zvonomir Ivisic if he is cleared by the NCAA, as that could disrupt the team's offensive flow a bit.

"I hope that Bradshaw, in particular, doesn't necessarily need a steady diet of offense," Thulin continued. "Their offense is really, really impressive right now, so if he's able to just step in and be a rim protector, which Kentucky has always had, then I'm sold."

Next up for the 'Cats is a home game against UNC-Wilmington on Saturday, December 2, at 4:00 PM. It will be televised on the SEC Network.
