Recent SEC Basketball Power Rankings Has Kentucky Wildcats Outside the Top Five
Kentucky basketball has had a solid start to the season despite being short-handed.
All three of UK's seven footers Aaron Bradshaw, Ugonna Onyenso and Zvonimir Ivisic have been out and will likely continue to be out for a period of time. Even though Coach John Calipari has been forced to play an eight-man rotation, they've still looked dominant at times, especially on the offensive end of the floor.
According to one writer, that's not good enough for top five in the SEC to begin the season.
Steve Simpson of FanNation's Auburn Daily recently released his SEC power rankings following the first week of action in college basketball. He has Kentucky at No. 6 in the rankings, sitting four spots behind Auburn, who lost their season opener to Baylor 88-82.
Here's Simpson's entire rankings:
1. Tennessee
2. Auburn
3. Arkansas
4. Texas A&M
5. Alabama
6. Kentucky
7. Ole Miss
8. Missouri
9. Mississippi State
10. LSU
11. Florida
12. Georgia
13. Vanderbilt
14. South Carolina
