SEC wraparound: Alabama, South Carolina, and Auburn keep winning

John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats are now three games back in the SEC after a tough loss to Tennessee on Saturday.

The Kentucky Wildcats skid continued on Saturday as they fell for the third time in four games, this time losing at home to the Tennessee Volunteers to fall to 5-4 in the SEC.

Unfortunately for the 'Cats, the teams at the top just keep winning. Tennessee obviously extended their lead over Kentucky, but so too did Alabama, South Carolina, and Auburn, who all picked up conference victories on a very busy Saturday in the SEC:

LSU 95, Arkansas 74

A bad season turned disastrous for Eric Musselman and the Hogs, who got absolutely blown out by LSU on Saturday, 95-74, to drop to 2-6 in SEC play.

The Razorbacks allowed the Tigers to shoot 54.7% from the field and 12-23 (52.2%) from three, and haven't looked remotely competitive in conference play this year.

South Carolina 72, Georgia 62

For the second game in a row the Bulldogs had a big lead in the first half and watched it disappear in the second, this time falling to South Carolina by ten.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-5 in conference play, while it gives the Gamecocks another valuable win. They are now 7-2 in the SEC and continue to be among the best and most surprising teams in college basketball.

Vanderbilt 68, Missouri 61

Someone was going to pick up their first win in the SEC on Saturday, and ultimately it was Jerry Stackhouse's Vanderbilt squad, who beat Missouri and sent the Tigers to an 0-9 record and 8-14 overall.

The Commodores grabbed 42 rebounds and held Missouri to just 7-26 from three, and they picked up their first win of 2024 and sixth overall.

Texas A&M 67, Florida 66

Florida watched a big lead disappear in the second half and ultimately couldn't outrun a 6-11 night from the free throw line, losing at A&M and undoing any at-large goodwill they earned from beating the Wildcats on Wednesday.

The Aggies move to 4-4 in the SEC thanks to a big game from Tyrese Radford, who had 26 points on 10-16 shooting, including knocking down two of three from deep.

Auburn 91, Ole Miss 77

The Tigers looked bad for the majority of the first half against Ole Miss, but they throttled the Rebels in the second half and earned a very solid 14 point victory.

Bruce Pearl's squad had six guys in double-figures, led by Johni Broome's 15 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks.

Chris Beard and Ole Miss fall to 5-4 in the SEC while Auburn picks up a much needed Quad 1 victory.

Alabama 99, Mississippi State 67

Alabama held their one game lead over Auburn and South Carolina by blowing out Mississippi State, going up 47-24 at halftime and coasting to an easy victory on Saturday evening.

The Crimson Tide are now 8-1 in the SEC and 16-6 overall, while the Bulldogs drop to just 3-6 in conference play as their skid continues.
