Takeaways: For the first time in Rupp Arena history Kentucky has lost three games in a row

What can we take away from Kentucky's 89-85 loss to Gonzaga?

The Kentucky Wildcats took a break from SEC play to host the Gonzaga Bulldogs and lost 89-85.

Kentucky is now working its way into a spot where this team could lose a few more games and drop a ton of seed lines.

If the Wildcats can't turn this around, this team will not make it out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

The big men got bullied

Kentucky's big men got bullied down low by the front court of Gonzaga. Down the stretch, they went down low almost every single play 1v1 with Kentucky's seven-footers, and they couldn't be stopped. All three of the seven-footers need to be more physical, or this will happen all year long. Kentucky still has to play some dominant big men in this league, like Tolu Smith of Mississippi State and Johni Broome of Auburn. These types of bigs will dominate Kentucky if the big men don't get more physical.

Adou Thiero was really good

Adou Thiero had a really good game for the Wildcats, scoring 15 points on 6-11 from the field. He was able to get to the rim and score and played hard defense. Thiero added five rebounds and two assists to the box score. It was an ugly loss for the Wildcats, but Thiero was a bright spot.

The last play call was interesting

Kentucky had the ball down two points with a little over ten seconds left on the clock, and Coach Calipari drew up a play where the two options were a lob to Thiero or a kick out to Antonio Reeves for a three. Reed Sheppard took the ball and threw a low lob to Thiero that was stolen, leading to the loss. It would have made a lot more sense if you had Thiero drive downhill and either make a layup or get fouled. Kentucky didn't even get a look to tie or take the lead. It was definitely a questionable play call.

After losing at home against Florida, Tennessee, and Gonzaga, the Kentucky Wildcats have their first three-game losing streak in Rupp Arena history. Back in the day, Rupp Arena was nearly impossible to win in for visiting teams, and now it happens a handful of times every season. Kentucky has to find a way to defend its home better. They will have a chance to snap the streak on Tuesday against Ole Miss.

What's next?

Kentucky will host the Ole Miss Rebels on Tuesday at 9:00 pm et. The Wildcats will look to snap the losing streak in Rupp Arena.
